Every
year HomeStretch supporters and friends gather at our golf
tournament for a great day of competition, fellowship,
prizes -- and fundraising for HomeStretch. The 8th annual
tournament was held on August 31, 2009 at the beautiful
Brookfield Country Club in Roswell. Despite rainy weather,
65 golfers enthusiastically hit the links to raise money
for our programs.
The day started with a kick-off by Jere Wood, Mayor of
Roswell, who graciously supports HomeStretch throughout
the year. And the day ended with an exciting sudden-death
putting contest. The highlight, and most humorous part of
the day was our John Daly dress alike contest. In a
three-peat, the team from Alpharetta United Methodist
Church, led by Rev. Don Martin, was declared the winning
team.
Many thanks for donations from Brown and Company
Jewelers, Killer Creek Harley Davidson, along with AirTran
tickets and golf outing prizes donated by volunteers and
sponsors.
Put this event on your calendar for summer 2010 - we
welcome golfers, volunteers and sponsors, all of whom help
make this annual event a success.
