| ENROLLMENT QUALIFICATIONS
|
Candidates for the HomeStretch program must meet specific
requirements in order to be considered for acceptance:
- Homeless or in immediate threat of becoming homeless
- Custody of minor children
- Employed full-time
- Strong work history
- Drug and alcohol free
- Live, work or have children attending school in the
North Metro area
- Verifiably married for a two parent household
- Willing to enter a contract with HomeStretch and
comply with the program requirements including
budgeting, debt repayment, prompt rent payment, proper
apartment upkeep, participation in Life Skills,
cooperation with the HomeStretch staff and volunteer
mentor team and on-going communication after program
graduation
How to Apply:
- Contact our office to get detailed information and
arrange an appointment to complete an application if
eligible
- Applications are screened by the HomeStretch staff
and qualified candidates are interviewed
- If your family is selected, you will be matched with
resources -- a HomeStretch Family Coordinator and a
volunteer Mentor Team to work with you during your
time in the program
- You will sign the HomeStretch contract where you
agree to follow the rules and requirements of the
program
- Move-in details are arranged and you are eligible to
live in the HomeStretch rent-controlled residence
during your time in the program. On average, families
usually remain in the program from 12 - 18 months
- You will have support to help you return to
financial independence including regular meetings with
the HomeStretch staff, coaching from your mentor team
and Life Skills classes
- To prepare your family for graduation from the
program, we will work with you to identify the
appropriate transition steps depending on your
financial status
- HomeStretch staff will stay in touch with you after
you graduation to assess your continued progress and
look for ways to improve our services
